A life in Theatre

Pratibha Agrawal a theatre archivist, has been active in Hindi Theatre since the 50s. A Founder Member of the theatre group Anamika (founded in 1955), Pratibhaji and her colleagues at Anamika sought to, produce quality plays that earned Anamika a special place in both the regional and national levels

A versatile personality, Pratibhaji has been a prolific writer. Her original works, translations and adaptations have been published that earned her several literary awards.

Founder Director of Natya Shodh Sansthan has been the epitome of hardwork and dedication. Even at 8O, Pratibhaji continues to be the driving force behind Sansthan, supervising over its multiple departments and looking into every administrative details. Of late, she has been active in the “Heritage Room” of Sansthan, searching For better ways of preservation of archival materials.

This multi-faceted talent has been honoured with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2005 for her over- all contribution to theatre.
